Tracey Forcum – Knee Replacement
“I have always had a job on my feet” is something many of us can say, but at 59-years-old that may take on a new meaning. For Tracey Forcum, it did. Tracey was born and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio and is currently the Food Service Director at Unioto Schools. She graduated from Unioto High School, her kids went to Unioto schools, and she continues to partake in the community with her grandkids and career.

In her free time, she enjoys shopping, camping, and spending time with her family. “I couldn’t walk in the sand on our last vacation; my kids and grandchildren would have to go and do things without me.”
Last year many of her day-to-day tasks stopped. Her knee problems were ongoing over a 20-year span, but after many treatments of injections, Dr. Troy Thompson referred her to see Dr. Brian Cohen. “I was near the point of crawling in the door to my home after work because I hurt so bad.”
Before committing to Dr. Cohen, Tracy heard a few things that deterred her but “I learned quickly that he cares about his patients, he takes his time and is very thorough. I left the first appointment feeling so much confidence and I felt motivated to move forward with the procedure.”
Before, during and after her replacement, “I was treated like royalty,” Tracey said. “The facilities are super nice, everything was explained, and I was never left in the dark,” she added. The length of my surgery was quicker than expected.
Tracey was paired with a walker for a week and cane for a week and a half. “I think I recovered so quickly because I was in so much pain before the surgery that the pain after didn’t seem that bad,” Tracey added. Tracey was back to work in 5 weeks.
“I do not have pain at all. I can walk steps and even my appearance has changed because I feel good. I have coworkers that have said I look so good, and I always reply because I feel good.”
