Margaret Barlow Broken Shoulder
It’s certainly not a good day when you can’t wash your back! Margaret found herself struggling to do the things that were essential in her life like washing her back and lifting things out of the oven after her fall.
Margaret Barlow, Piketon, Ohio local, enjoys walking, cooking and being with her family. Between spending time with her husband, son and three grandchildren, Margaret had no time to deal with a broken shoulder.

After visiting a facility that was not sure if she needed surgery or not, she was sent to “bandage it up.” Barlow said, “the pain continued. I couldn’t rest and I was worried about seeking additional care with a large hospital bill in mind.”
The difference between a doctor that cares about the patient and one that don’t, is his/her determination to find this issue. “I was connected to Dr. Cohen through a family friend and immediately after meeting him, I felt content. He truly cared. He came in, had pictures to show us of my shoulder and the break, he explained what I needed and why, and he answered my questions.”
Dr. Cohen prides himself on patients first, not as a tagline, but as a true meaning to the care he delivers. “He puts you at ease, he has the knowledge and confidence that a surgeon should,” added Margaret.
In addition to Margaret, her family had great care during her experience. “The day of my surgery, Dr. Cohen personally took my family to the waiting room. While I was in the procedure, the hospital staff brought food to my family, and after my surgery, Dr. Cohen went as far as calling me personally to check on how I was doing,” Margaret said.
“I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to lift things after the surgery, but I don’t have any pain and was able to return to everything including washing my back and picking up my grandkids!” Margaret added.
