Steve Schumaker Shoulder Replacement
“He is considered to be the best and that’s what I wanted.” Steven Shumaker is retired from hood packaging, born in Greenfield, Ohio and has multiple kids and grandkids. In his spare time, he likes to antique shop. But since his fall in November of 2022, Steve had unbearable shoulder pain keeping him from enjoying his retirement.
Prior to surgery, “I could hardly use my arm, it was difficult for me to even shower, eat, or comb my hair,” said Shumaker. He’s able to do all these things now. “I’m working on getting my strength back,” he added.
During his care, the team was extremely helpful. “The office kept me informed. When you go through something like this, your nerves can get the best of you. However, everything went exactly as I was told.”
Shumaker experienced chest pain post op and had to be transferred to Grant. “Fortunately, Dr. Cohen treated me like a friend and was at my bedside checking on me. He was personable and answered all my questions. I was impressed to say the least.”
Steve is really looking to travel more now that he is pain-free. He mentioned, “If you are on the edge about getting help, get the surgery because eventually you will be back to where you were before you every hurt.”
