This Week’s Theme: The Day After the Dream Became Real
“Yesterday was one of the most emotional and rewarding days of my professional life.
After more than six years of planning, challenges, setbacks, difficult conversations, and moments when walking away would have been the easier choice, we finally broke ground on Great Seal Medical Campus.
And today? We get back to work!
I’ve spent much of my career believing that healthcare can be better. That patients deserve more than what has traditionally been available to them. That where someone lives shouldn’t determine the quality of care they can receive.
That belief hasn’t always made my professional journey easy. But it has given me a purpose that has carried me through some incredibly difficult times. Yesterday was a celebration. And seeing so many people come together to support this vision meant more to me than I can put into words.
But this morning, I’m thinking about something different. The responsibility that comes with making a promise. Over the next two years, thousands of decisions will be made about Great Seal.
Decisions about construction, technology, surgical safety, staffing, patient access, and the experience families will have when they walk through our doors. Most of those decisions will never make the news. Nobody will take pictures of them. Some will be difficult, and I’m sure there will be more challenges along the way.
But those decisions will ultimately determine whether we deliver on what we promised yesterday. And that’s what excites me!
Because the goal was never simply to build an 83,000-square-foot medical facility in Chillicothe, Ohio. The goal is to build something that changes how healthcare is delivered throughout South Central Ohio.
Something our children and grandchildren will benefit from long after we’re gone.
To our patients, families, staff, physicians, nurses, partners, construction teams, and everyone who has believed in this project, thank you.
Yesterday, you helped us celebrate a dream. Today, we begin the hard work of delivering on it. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
