Jane Maddie Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement x2

“I couldn’t reach across the table for my card games, I had to quit water aerobics, and a lot of the activities I really enjoy.” Does this sound like you? Perhaps a joint replacement is in store to help get those activities back! For Jane Maddie, it sure was. Jane was an activity director for a nursing home for over 30 years. Now, she’s retired with grandchildren and thriving because of her reverse sho

ulder replacements.

Jane has 2 sons, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Her family would best describe her as loving, caring and one to always enjoy the small moments of life. “When my first great-grand

daughter was born, my shoulders prevented me from holding her,” said Jane.

Jane had to quit going to church because she couldn’t set in the pews without a prop for her shoulders. “If I would have known how great everything was going to turn out and how easy the surgery was, I would have done it sooner,” she said.

In 2022, Jane decided the cortisone shots were no longer helping, and she had dealt with the pain for longer than she should of. Jane stated that her overall care, between visits, the procedure and even after was phenomenal. “The staff are all so friendly, helpful and informative.”

Jane was referred to Dr. Cohen from her sports medicine physician, Dr. Jason Foster. “My daughter-in-law used to work for Dr. Cohen, and she reiterated how great of a surgeon he really was. She told me to have my questions ready,” Jane explained.

Before her procedure, as many would be, Jane was scared. “I handed it over to God and I knew everything would be okay. It was nice to see Dr. Cohen before the surgery. He informed me on what to expect.”

In 2023, Jane had the opposite shoulder replaced. “I am enjoying holding my new great-grandson for hours!” After being asked if she would refer Dr. Cohen to a friend, Jane stated, “I would tell them he is the best one to go to.”

Jane wrapped up her last appointment with Dr. Cohen in June. “Dr. Cohen was a God send to me.”
