Knee Pain Procedures in Chillicothe, OH
A knee arthroscopy is minimally invasive surgery performed with a device about the size of a pencil that carries a tiny video camera (an arthroscope). Dr. Cohen uses the arthroscope to look inside the knee area and then uses tiny surgical tools inserted through small incisions to perform the procedure.
ACL reconstruction surgery reconstructs the knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). During ACL reconstruction surgery, the damaged ligament is removed and replaced with a band of tissue that comes from either a part of the patient’s body or from a human organ donor.
PCL reconstruction surgery reconstructs the knee’s posterior cruciate ligament (PCL). During PCL reconstruction surgery, the damaged ligament is removed and replaced with a band of tissue that comes from either a part of the patient’s body or from a human organ donor.
A knee cartilage transplant replaces damaged knee cartilage with healthy cartilage from another part of the knee. The healthy cartilage is called a graft.
Dr. Brian Cohen utilizes Mako SmartRobotics™ for personalized surgical planning and precise surgical guidance. During a robotic assisted knee replacement, Dr. Cohen guides the robotic arm to remove the damaged parts of your knee and then inserts an implant to restore your knee function. Depending on how much of your knee is damaged, you may need either a partial knee replacement or a total knee replacement. If you have already had knee replacement surgery and the implant needs to be replaced, then you may need to undergo revision total knee replacement surgery.
